Supplements of vitamins and minerals for sugar gliders

Of course, sugar gliders (SG) will not be able to go out and supplement your diet with vitamins and minerals, as these animals are kept as pets. As pet owners, we have to provide vitamins and minerals. This can be achieved by giving your sugar gliders supplements.

A peculiar thing about suggies is that these animals have to maintain the equilibrium levels of the following trace

nutrients:

- Calcium

– Phosphorus

– The cholecalciferol (vitamin D3)

Unlike humans and other larger mammals, sugar bears are unable to tolerate prolonged periods of nutrient imbalance and deficiency.

This being the case, based on calcium supplements should be administered in adequate amounts to sugar gliders youth and adults to maintain the ratio of nutrients in an optimal level.

If not, an SG may suffer serious nerve-related problems and may even suffer from bone problems. Once these problems together, reverse health conditions is very difficult. If nothing is done, the sugar glider will die.

There are hundreds of supplements on the market today, and some are advertised as suitable for multiple species of animals. Avoid these brands at all costs. There is no such thing as a universal vitamin and mineral ratio can be used for multiple species.

Each species requires a unique relationship of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

A supplement for cats would be a horrible substitute for supplements intended to give to dogs. On the contrary, can not take supplements that were intended for cats or dogs to candle-da. Doing so can cause more problems in the long term.

How to introduce vitamin and mineral supplements? It is really easy. Remember the relationship we have spoken before?

Use this share of food in their favor. Fruits and vegetables are not allowed in the sugar glider diet. I’m just stressing that strictly has to control portions to avoid over-feeding your suggie.

A calcium based supplement can give your candle honey at night just before retiring to bed. Get a few pieces of fresh vegetables (no need dice or hair) and just sprinkle the calcium based supplement in fresh vegetables.

Providing whole fruit or vegetable conserves moisture, which is good for sailing, gives in general. Just be sure to clean the cage in the morning. Remove any leftovers promptly to avoid infection and disease.

Another treatment that can safely give your suggie is whole wheat bread. Just a little – just place the bread into his glider’s cage at night, just before going to bed.

Be sure to add some calcium based supplement on top of bread before putting it into the cage of the planners of honey. Do not give the Sugarloaf carry every day. Remember, the bread is a treat not a staple food of the sail.
